A Fine Old Neckrest, Middle Sepik River Area, East Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea, Early to Mid-20th Century,
in the form of a well carved crocodile figure, an important totemic animal in the Sepik river area. In older times most people had carved wood pillows and the Sepik cultures made very beautiful examples like this one.
